A Favorite at the Tour of Homes in Salem

Our friends, Liz and Don, took us to see a few homes in Salem's Tour of Homes Sunday. My favorite home was a Timbercraft Home that was inspired by Greene & Greene.
There was a lot to love in my favorite house on the Tour of Homes, but one standout was the wallpaper.

The tile work over the stove was exquisite. Notice the faucet for filling large pots.

These are serious laundry appliances.

This is a fancy coffee/espresso maker.

Over the fire place in the Great Room is the original artwork used for the upcoming Salem Art Fair poster. The owners purchased Salem Art Association auction, I believe.

We liked how the water flowed out of the mater bathroom sink.

The wallpaper throughout the home was a delight. Clocks of all kinds filled the home.

This inscription was over the master bedroom fireplace. The quote is by Samuel Johnson

Liz was about to fill up the tub and hop in.
This attractive mirror reflects the unique frame work found around windows, doors, etc.

This room is strictly for DVD storage. The huge media/theater room was made for lots of movie watching.

I liked the built-in crevice for shampoo storage in the shower.

There were three or four little library areas with built in benches along one wall across from guest rooms and the fitness room.

The exercise room had flooring found in fitness centers. Notice the water fountain. No need to carry a water bottle.

I had to get on my knees and crawl into this cute room. Once in you can stand up. It is a miniature room for a toddler. The leather chair you see a bit of would fit my granddaughter's behind, not mine! It was a wonderful place.

A nice covered patio.
Robert's buddy, Sharon, has a Wolf range. These are for REAL cooks. The next two pictures were from another home on the tour. I think. Not sure which one.

This was Liz's favorite feature! A built-in coffee pot in the large bathroom.

A bedroom in one house had an Indiana Jones theme.

This house had some nice detail, but was too near the Hwy 22 road just beyond the Independence cut-off. The long skylight could make the house hot on a few hot days, too.
