Dinner and Avenue Q

We attended the last of the Broadway series at the Keller Auditorium. We saw Avenue Q, which was written by an Oregonian from Coos Bay , Jeff Whitty. We liked it very much.

I have this to say: If you go to a movie or a play, you need to do your homework and know what you are going to. I do not feel the least bit sorry for adults who go to productions and are upset by the subject matter or approach. This play was R rated at times. Anyone who can read should have known that. We thought it was great and laughed a great deal. Our friend Linda, who has tickets on one of the mezzanines, learned from the elevator operator that people left early. I say to them, PAY ATTENTION. Robert, a day later, told me that he saw kids in lobby before the play. If I had seen that I would have given the parents a clue. I do feel sorry for the kids. Parents can be SO stupid. Puppets do not necessarily mean child appropriate.

Prior to the play, we went to dinner at Veritable Quandary. Pictures follow:

Poached Egg, Smoked Bacon & Butter Lettuce on Crispy Cornbread Pickled Onions and Buttermilk, Chive & White Cheddar Dressing

I liked this salad, as strange as it may seem to you. The poached egg yolk ran over the butter lettuce and made it a great meal. I had soup, too, but could have been content with just this. Okay, I might have had to have dessert, too.

Linda ordered pizza - caramelized onions, mushrooms and cheese.

Robert and I both had the lentil soup. He for his first course, I for the entree, I guess. It was tasty, but just didn't photograph well.

Robert then had short ribs.

Linda and I shared the rhubarb strawberry crisp with buttermilk ice cream.
Robert had the chocolate, brittle banana split.
