Robert's law firm, Black Helterline, bought a table for nine at a fund raiser for the 16th Annual YWCA of Greater Portland Leadership Luncheon today.
Here you see Jeannette Walls who as the keynote speaker had everyone's attention. I read her book, The Glass Castle, a year ago. Her life had plenty to draw on for an inspiring and intriguing talk. I walked up close to get a good picture, but as you can see the background plant makes it look like her hair is full of static or on fire. Oh, well....
Two big screens where up to help those in the back see the speakers. We had a great location in the center.
M.R. Greenwood, Michele Roy, and Charmon Williams were seated to my right in the huge Portland Convention Center Ballroom. The food was nothing great but the speeches and goal to support the Greater Portland YWCA and its great works were the highlights.
We each got to take home the little plants around the center pot, which Michele got to have because she was the organizer of us all and actively supports the YW and its projects.
