First Day in Palm Springs

Robert and I attended the March 3 & 4 Destination OSU in Palm Springs, California. We went to this same event this time last year. Robert wanted to go, not so much because he is a proud Beaver, but because he wanted to get into the sun and play some golf. This is our first day. We went early, Saturday March 1

Robert prepares to board our Horizon plane which as luck would have it was the OSU plane that Alaska Airlines painted along with a U of O plane. I saw the UofO plane go by. These planes are in the regular set of planes for anyone to use.

Saturday night, we were guests of Verle and Stewart Weitzman of Indian Wells in their winter home. Verle graduated from the school of Home Economics, now the College of Health and Human Sciences. If I were a student now, I would be getting my degree through their programs that are exactly where my interests were back when I went to OSU and where they continue to be.

Verle introduces Dean, Tammy Bray.
I really liked the miniature rug drink coasters.

Below are pictures of their fabulous patio and yard adjacent to a large stone mountain. I love this outside wall sculpture of quails, some of my favorite birds.

See the bird nest where the bird comes in from the bottom! This way predators do not see the babies and I think it keeps them shaded from the sun.

Master bedroom right off the pool patio.

Food I put on my plate from the reception.

Robert and I drove home afterwards and looked for a place to eat dinner. Robert spied McGowan's Irish Inn. He had b-b-q ribs and I had Sand Dab. Never had it before. It looked like a huge Latke, but is a light fish. I liked it.
