Christmas in Sitka; New Grandbaby to See

Robert, Lee Ann and I went to Sitka, Alaska for Christmas time arriving December 22, returning Dec. 26. We admit that taking all our many presents to share was part of it, but we really had to go there to see Max Holden Donaldson who was born November 29th. We love seeing how our grand-daughter Madison is growing and visiting with son Scott and his wife, Shana, too.

"Give me time, I'll grow into it."

I had Madison open this Hanna Andersson dress early so she could wear it to church. I couldn't resist it.

Grandpa Donaldson with Max.

Scott and Shana talked with Charlotte in North Carolina via Internet. She was a pilot in Sitka and a great friend. We all miss her.

Sadie can get into some great positions.

This is a position Max loves; on someone's shoulder.

If he isn't hungry for milk, then he is great to cuddle with.

Christmas Eve walk in Totem Park in Sitka.
Shana and Max are nice and warm.

Why me?

I always make a spicy shrimp dish for Christmas Eve.

Madison dumped a bag of bows on to the floor and sat in them. Seemed like a great thing to do.

Those large Elmo bibs from Auntie Lee Ann were a hit!

Madison preferred sitting in a box and bringing out some of her old toys. Presents just didn't mean that much to her this year.

We had Christmas dinner on the base. Prime rib, potatoes, carrots, rolls, salad, chocolate dipped strawberries that looked like they were wearing tuxedos, pie and ice cream. No muss. No fuss.

"I'll have what she's having," Tim declares.

This is what I ate.

Let's see.... yes, I do think I have room for more strawberries.

A view from our rental 5-plex Dec. 26 morning

Max has on an Oregon State beaver hat given to him by Christy and Tim Lowry. The little white thing you see at the top of his forehead are little beaver teeth.

Cute pants and top from our nearby Hanna Andersson. Maybe I should get a job there....
