A cool model of Minnie Pearl was at the museum at Opryland. It looked like it was made for people to sit next to her and have their picture taken, but they had it roped off....
Robert and I went to Nashville for the first time. He was there for a NADC (National Association of Dealer Counsel) Conference. This was Robert's fourth NADC meeting (my third). Nashville was hot and humid, more so than the weather report I had seen previously indicated, but we adapted. We enjoyed Nashville, though the downtown isn't anything like Portland. No departments stores, little shops or condos. I hadn't studied up on restaurants, so we didn't have too many great meals. We often ate at nearby chains that just made us fatter. We did notice that most people we saw were overweight. They made us look thin! Also, we were surprised at how much we enjoyed the Grand Ole Opry. We hadn't been Country Western fans, but now just might be.
