This Little Piggy Went To The Yacht Club

We attended a fundraiser at brother David and Jim's Yacht Club out toward Scappose on Dike Road. A pig was roasted, but as you can see, it was little piggy that should have gone all the way home. But never fear, there was other pork to eat, and this pig did look very pretty when finally roasted.

Robert is standing on the top floor deck of Jim and Mary Donaldson's house boat. It has the best view of the entire Multnomah Channel Yacht Club. Turns out the theme of the party was Hawaiian; Robert doesn't usually wear lei.

We were entertained by children, young ladies and women dancing a variety of authentic Hawaiian dances in beautiful costumes. The group has been dancing for a long time and it showed.

The dinner menu was: roast pork (not just from the above pig), two salads, baked beans, crawfish, and pineapple upside down cake.

I loved the macaroni salad and crawdads!

Some of us played a fun game of "ring toss" where a life ring was throw to a floating buoy. The first to make a ringer was Robert, but who bested him by TWO ringers? His brother, Jim. The skill must run in the family. Brother David should have tried it. You see my effort - not even close....

Jim is throwing one of his winning ringers, here, under the watchful eye of the judge.
