Cheekwood Gardens and Museum

We had an extra day in Nashville and had to decide between going to Andrew Jackson's home The Hermitage or the Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art. We picked Cheekwood and enjoyed walking some of the 55-acre estate built by the family of the Maxwell House Coffee fortune viewing the many gardens and plantings. Then we walked around the 30,000 sq foot Georgian-style mansion looking at Faberge jewelry, paintings and decorative art. the various gardens and plantings. The weather was hot and humid, yet perfect for the day.

Fruit tea was the popular drink at the Pineapple Restaurant at Creekwood.
