I filled the bird feeder at the beach for the first time since Winter with shelled sunflower seeds. I read that that is the best way to go. Those seeds you get at the grocery store are not healthy for the birds and the messy seeds drop and sprout below the feeder.
This little bird would grab a seed and then turn away from the feeder and eat it while holding its claws.
