Beach Combing Surprises

I woke up at 6 a.m. this morning and figured I had better get down and look for agates since the lowest tide was early. I walked Sadie to get the paper and left her home. Her sore leg couldn't have taken all the activity.
At first I just picked up interesting rocks, but then later started to find agates. This is the first time for me to find scissors! I scrubbed them up later, but they just wouldn't cut, so I threw them into the garbage. Better there than on the beach or in an animal's stomach
All the rocks on the bottom half of the pie plate are agates! The tip of the scissors are pointing at a limpet shell. I was gone 90 minutes and wasn't the first person out. One needs to get up before the sun to beat the serious beach combers.... Forget about it!
