Evening at the Pittock Mansion

The board of the Oregon Korea Foundation had a social and dinner at the grand Pittock Mansion in the west hills of Portland. I took my new camera, a Canon Power Shot A720 and hardly knew what I was doing. Other people there even helped me out. It is the best place to go and take pictures! Every room was decorated for Christmas and with a common theme, A Fairy Tale Christmas.

Mr. Henry Pittock, who owned the Oregonian Newspaper.

Mrs. Georgiana Pittock, who lead the city with social works and community service.

We walked all around the Pittock Mansion with piano music in the background.

Everywhere we looked were fun decorations. Don't eat this one!

Not your typical candlestick! Remember the Christmas theme of the Pittock Mansion was children's books or Disney moves. Do you know this one?

Santa in the tub at the mansion!
Cinderella's dress.

The meal was catered by Le Hana, Japanese Bar & Grill. They have a restaurant located in South Waterfront and Tanasbourne West in Hillsboro. The call their cuisine Japanese-French fusion We will have to go there now.

I was impressed with the salad that had cubes of chicken and tomato. The dressing was superb.

Platters of sushi were popular. We also had Galbi beef, and rice and the BEST salmon! I went back for seconds on the salad and salmon.

I loved the kimchi; just the right amount of seasoning.

My flash washed out the image of my plate of food.

I am trying to figure out my new camera. Below is a bit too dark. So, what is the answer? Maybe get further away from my plate and use my zoom with the flash....

What gorgeous decorations over the lights in our dining room in the lower level.

View from the kitchen sink!!

We thought we needed a little bit of dessert after the Korean food (go figure), so we went to our neighborhood gelato spot, Via Deliza. I had pear brandy sorbetto and Robert had dark chocolate hazelnut. One scoop. We had some sense.
