December Bunco at Debbie's

It is always great to be a guest at John and Debbie's. Debbie decorates her home beautifully and cooks and entertains us like we were royalty. She had Bunco Christmas this year and we all had a great time, as you will see. We saw little of John this night, he was enjoying his new office.

As soon as I arrived, I made my way to the family room and bar in the back. Debbie and helpers were busy making the featured drink. It was a beauty. Debbie McGrath learned to make it from Lucy Brennan's Mixology Class.

A starfruit slice made the drink a very Christmas time beverage.

The eager faces made me think of baby robins in a nest waiting for a worm, but in this case the Bella cocktail.

The drink Debbie made was from Portland's Lucy Brennan's book. She is the founder/owner and mixologist at Mint and 820.

Kris is photogenic, isn't she.

Time to take my drink and look around at Debbie's fabulous Christmas decorations throughout her home.

After I walked around Debbie's place snapping a few pictures I had some great appetizers.

Hearts of Palm Spread
1 14-oz can hearts of palm
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
3 tablespoons green onion, finely chopped
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons pimiento, minced
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
Preheat oven to 350
Drain hearts of palm and chop finely. Reserve 1 tablespoon each Parmesan and green onion. Mix hearts of palm thoroughly with remaining ingredients. Spread mixture into a shallow baking dish and sprinkle reserved Parmesan and green onion evenly over top. Bake 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Run quickly under broiler to brown top. Serve with toasted French bread slices, Pita Triangles or crackers.

A tasty appetizer with mock crab.

"NOW HEAR THIS. NOW HEAR THIS! Select your table, get your plate and proceed through the buffet line, Bunco Babes!"

Spinach salad with blue cheese, pecans, and apricots.

Chicken pot pie (recipe in previous blog entry).

This was so good. An awfully big piece of Debbie's heath bar dessert.

Look at your number, ladies, and then select a gift from the pile.
