Writer Barbara Ashmun Spoke at the "Mad Hatter's Tea Party"

Portland Branch AAUW's guest speaker, Barbara Ashmun, and our hostess, Jan Eastman, on Jan's back patio overlooking her yard below.


Our AAUW branch meeting speaker was Barbara Ashmun, master gardener and garden writer. She spoke to us about how she started writing and eventually was published. She is now the author of six books and has a weekly garden column in the Portland Tribune. She shared how her hard work, lucky breaks and stumbling blocks all were parts of her success.
