We discussed the book When The Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka at Book Group at Barbara Gaines' home. I would recommend it to everyone. It is beautifully and yet simply written about Japanese Americans at the beginning of WWII. The book is about one family and how they were put into internment camps. The main characters are based on members of the author's family. It made for a great discussion.
