We usually are at the beach, but Sunday we were in Portland and boy were we busy. It just shows you what you can do, if you want to. We got up and went to church at Trinity Cathedral there was a guest priest, The Very Rev. Peter Elliot, who gave the sermon on the day's Gospel Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32 (The parable on the Prodigal Son).
After church in Kempton Hall, the church had a large book sale, where we snagged some great reads and gifts for Madison, of course.
Right after church, instead of driving home as usual, we headed to Cinema 21 and watched the 12:30 pm showing of "The Rules of the Game" by Jean Renoir. "A milestone of movies, impeccably restored" claimed the Oregonian. We enjoyed it and recommend you see it.
We then went home and had sandwiches. After I put the corned beef on the stove we headed out to Vancouver, Washington.Robert wanted to drive around and find some golf courses.
We returned home and watched Casino Royale - the latest 007 James Bond movie as we enjoyed tender corned beef, potatoes, cabbage and carrots. We recommend that movie, too.
What a day!!
